Palestinian Environmental Field Center PDF Print E-mail

Several steps have been undertaken by the Palestine Academy for Science and Technology towards establishing the Environmental Field Center (EFC) in Jericho. A 20 dunum land leased from the Islamic Waqf was chosen as the location for the EFC. The site is located in the Hijlah area, close to the Jordan River, Spanish Garden, Cable Car project, etc. The EFC building itself is designed as a 200 m2 structure which will include a library, a fossil exhibition, a seminar hall and a small cafeteria. Construction started in June.

On 3 March 2004, a closure meeting was held in Al-Bardouni Restaurant, Ramallah for the teachers who had participated in the Environmental Awareness Project. Mrs. Reem Abed-Alhadi, the UNDP representative and the Palestine Academy thanked the teachers for their efforts in making this project successful.
